Types of Networks

2 Types of Networks:

Peer-to-Peer:

Each Device in the network communicate with other devices directly and shares Files, Printers and Scanners.

Client/Server:

Suitable for larger networks
Server acts as storage location for files and shared application on that network
Server controls client computers

Network Interface Card (NIC):

A NIC (pronounced 'nick') is also known as a network card
It connects the computer to the Twisted pair cable, which in turn links all of the computers on the network together
Each computer on a network must have a network card
Computers with a wireless connection to a network also use a network card
